I'd say plastidip aswell.. I dipped my WJ and it looked good.. went to trade it in removed some of the plastidip stripes I made then ended up taking my trade back so I kinda have a blank canvas again..lol. now I get to think of new things to put on there.. was thinking about pulling the bumper to do it and redo the grill again..

Asking any and all who have Plastic Dipped their chrome trim; how has is held up?

My 2015 HA lemon is being replaced by a 2017 Summit Platinum edition and will want to black out as much as possible. Does the dip (spray) coating last long, does car wash brushes scratch or peal it, for the cost is it better than vinyl rap?

How long does the Plasti-Dip last?
An earlier poster said they did theirs in gloss? I didn't know it came in gloss - that's so much better (to me) than the flat black.
I have a new '16 High Altitude and it's all dark except the chrome around the windows.

The dip itself comes in matte. They sell a glossifier in an aerosol can....similar to how clear coat makes it glossy.

I tried plastidip and had horrible results. I swapped all the chrome emblems/grille/tailgate panel for the altitude black pieces. Took a little longer and a lot more expensive but I'd rather have them and not need to worry about chipping. They actually have pretty decent prices on almoparparts.com. That's where I got everything.

Plasti dip. Did the fog surrounds, grille inserts, bumper mouth and rear bumper foot guard and mirrors. Make sure you dont tape exactly the the edge like you would during paint all the excess can be peeled away. Everything came out incredible. 2.5 cans anddid over the course of 2 days. Didnt do it all at once.
Ordered black jeep emblems and grand
cherokee emblems from ebay
Also ordered srt/altitude taillights from ebay

If you are painting these parts yourself, go with SEM Trim Black, you won't be disappointed. Otherwise grab the OEM parts.
