you need 1/2 acorn style lugs for our vehicles

just buy the ones I linked.......lol

they fit perfect on the stock rims

if you have aftermarket rims, get the tuner spline lugs.......they are typically longer and may stick out too far on stock rims

word of advice, have the shop tighten by hand so they dont scratch the finish!!!!!

another option is buy the 100 dollar wheel locks....but for me, Id rather take the risk............if someone steals my rims, I will get NEW rims and NEW tires for 400 dollars more on my deductible LOL

mine are excellent quality, and I think you get what you pay for...and they all are spline locks. don't put off ordering a spare Key Socket... Don't go Cheep on Yer Jeep

hmmmmmmmm....I agree with that thought process most of the time.......but in this case though, really dunno about it.........

but sure, go ahead and pay for some name brand lug nuts if it makes u feel better lol

do you think an auto manufacturer uses 'expensive' $70 lugs on their OEM rims that are completely safe, reliable and functional?

a lug is a lug.....unless of course you 'need' a locking lug..........but even those dont prevent theft, they just deter it........any seasoned thief can still crack a spline nut in 5 seconds if the REALLY want ur rims......

all manufacturers I know of use McGard and the like.....I was just saying I was burned one time on a $20 set of lugnuts and locks. Most are made in china of inferior metal and are cast with air bubbles etc. Im not speaking about lugnuts theft deterents...Im speaking of reliability when it comes to taking them on/off, torquing etc.

so HRE told me they only have the chrome/polished lugs...they were going to ship out the acorn bulge 1/2-20 3/4" hex for $30...so my last questions are:

What is the benefit to going spline over the acorn-style? Since HRE is saying the acorn bulge is the best, are the gorilla's "bulge" style? b/c they do not state that...I want to order these:

Gorilla Automotive Products Black Acorn Stlye 3/4" Hex 1/2-20 Thread Wheel Installation Kit

Yes they are Bulge style...Bob.
ps Don't forget the key.

those HRE wheels, they will PROBABLY require the thinner, spline style lugs not the standard factory acorn style ones.........most aftermarket rims do

but dont quote me on that!

#43 ·
^^ I won't...HRE quoted me the "acorn bulge 1/2-20 3/4" hex"...so that is what I ordered on ebay for $25 shipped...if I don't like the quality of them, I will buy the Gorilla set above for $50 or get the McGards @ $75 with locks...I just wanted black lugs to be here by next week and everywhere would take until Thursday or Fri of next week. I love eBay

HRE, They were going to ship standard lugs but chrome
