Black nerf bars for high altitude

After a receiving shipment of Westin Signature nerf bars that simply won't fit on a HA 4x4 with skid plates, I was informed that Westin doesn't make nerf bars that fit a HA. I was curious if anyone has found a manufacturer who does.

Re: Black nerf bars for high altitude

I'm "sort of" looking as well. I have a Limited, and see quite a few for them. But none for the High Altitude. What is making me balk is I'm not real keen on removing those rubber plugs to install the T-Bolts most all of them attach with. That will compromise the water resistance of the vehicle. I'm also not too fond of the thin unibody metal they attach to. It seems rather flimsy to have to resist bending, from people constantly standing on them, getting in and out.

I DO LIKE the way they look, and what they're designed to do. The best ones I've found to my liking are made by Rhino. But they won't fit the High Altitude. You might check with your dealer to see if Jeep offers them. Or if they plan to in the near future.

Re: Black nerf bars for high altitude

I bought a pair of Romik 61309419 (black), supposedly they should fit on my 2016 High Altitude. I opened the box and the mounting brackets looked like they took a beating in transit, the black powder coating is chipped. At this point I'm considering returning them because of that, but if I put them up I'll let you know if the fit (unless you already know that they don't, in which case - please let me know!).

As an aside, does anyone who has the black powder coating side steps installed know whether the powder coating on the mounting brackets gets easily chipped because of the debris flying up from under the car? And if so, is that a problem with rust in the long term? I'm in Los Angeles so it may be a while before the car sees snow/salt, but it does occasionally rain down here (I'm told). I called Romik to tell them about the damage during shipping and the guy assured me even if I had brackets that looked brand spanking new, they would get chipped in no time once I install them. My cynical nature makes me think that's exactly what he would say so I don't return the brackets, but maybe he's right - does anyone know?
