Re: Carbon Fibre Vinyl...work has begun

Cheers guys. I really appreciate the kind words. I've done a bit more trimming as some of the backing paper was showing in some parts, so it looks a lot better now.

I really enjoyed doing this, despite it being a fiddly job and I'm really pleased with the results. Got a couple more areas on the exterior to do, so hopefully they'll turn out just as good.

Rob - no, WJ's don't have the grab handles on the pillars, so it's a real easy job. I did mine first as a practice run. I found that the drivers side pillar needed re stretched a few days later as there were some air bubbles in it. I think this may be down to me driving around with the window down (I could be wrong) but it was easy fixed.

The rear step cover, didn't need an adhesion promoter after all. Stuck down no probs. That said, one harsh winter may prove me wrong.

But I'm really happy with the outcome and I'm glad you guys like it too, cause that means a lot.

Re: Carbon Fibre Vinyl...work has begun

I think that looks pretty freaking good Aaron!

Rear cover/step thing looks great, and the little hinges for the rear glass would look good too.

A-pillars and steering wheel look great too, but I just don't know if the wood fits in anymore... It's a bit chalk and cheese if you know what I mean, old vs. new... I think if you done all the internal wooden trim, it'd look even tighter and OEM.

Yeah Marty, that's why I'm not too sure about the wheel. I kinda look at it and go 'yeah' and then the next minute I'm not sure. Just doesn't go with the wood. Trouble is, I love my wood (the trim in the Jeep that is) I just don't know if I could cover it all. I've seen some horible woods that I'd cover in a heartbeat, but I like the one I've got.

That looks sick, bro! Definitely keep that steering wheel. It's just right, not too much, but different enough to notice!

Thanks Ron Yeah I like the steering wheel, but I agree with Marty about it not quite being right with the wood, so I'm still in two minds. I've got plenty left so I may see what it looks like with the wood all covered.

Life is good over here but we've just had the Government announce it's emergency budget and VAT has gone up to 20%

How's things with you guys?

20%? Ouch! It'd be less painful to randomly ass-rape you guys at the check out! O.ne B.ig A.ss M.istake A.merica and his dumbass-ocrats were trying to get a VAT in America but the outcry was so bad they shelved it for the time being. I laugh every time he's proven to be the devil he is, then cry as my people continue to stand in line to smoke his pole...

Anyway, Korea is pretty cool at the moment. I love my school. Its so different than the other 2 I worked at in the past, it doesn't even feel like the same country. Most of the teachers I have to deal with speak English, and are not too bad to look at to boot! (shhhhhh! don't tell me wifey I says that!) lol. Actually, she wouldn't care. She knows I only have eyes for her. She'll be here in less than a month, but I only get to see her for 5 weeks. I remembered telling you I'd send a bottle of Soju for you to sample. I was really busy and wanted to make sure I got the best kind. I finally wrangled my Korean friends to help me pick out a bottle. It'll be in the mail Monday. I hope they don't find a way to tax you on a gift bottle of booze!

Yeah I've noticed he's not as popular as he first was and as for sacking that General who criticised him, unbelievable. That's sheer arrogance. I noticed that General (can't remember his name) was wearing British Para wings (my old regiment) so that makes him one of us!

That's good that you're getting to see her at last, especially after all the shit that went down there recently. Man I can't even begin to imagine how that must have felt.

Man thanks for the Soju my friend, can't wait to try it (typical Scotsman). The buggers will no doubt find a way to tax it I'm sure. And you can be sure I shall return the favour, there's a whisky distillery just two minutes from my house
