Chrome idea, maybe not.

Just a thought.. How about using window tint film to cover chrome?

I've used lamin-x a couple times before....not on chrome but it was significantly more pliable then window tint film and it's made to hold up in the elements. again just a thought.

you need some good 3m exterior vinyl Fabs. I recommend the 180c becaasue it has the air channels and is easier to install. But really...there are tons of 3m vinyls that will suit what you want to do. eBay is a good place to buy a variety of vinyl samples to try.
