Color matching?

I'm looking to have my door handles, side mirrors, and rear lift hatch painted to match on my '05 Laredo. Can I have a shop paint prep and paint them how they are or do I need to buy chrome covers for them all and have those covers painted to match?

You def dont need chrome covers for the handles/tailgate. Any GOOD shop can have those boys painted up nice in a day or two. What is your color code? (check on your door label) They sell those piece already painted and the quality is unbeatable! Its OEM, and saves bunch of hassle and is probably same price or less Heres where to get them -

DOOR HANDLES - http://justforjeeps.com/grchpadoha.html

TAILGATE HANDLE - http://justforjeeps.com/patapi.html

As far as mirrors, if they aren't painted you'll have to get them done by a third party. Ive tried covers and UNLESS you have a great shop (professional, not a DIY in my book) to do them, they wont turn out too great.

SO, get some nice chrome mirror covers for around $50-$60 and have a shop paint them w/ your color code and then they go on w/ some 3M pre-installed sticky tape OR the route Im turning to now is buying used OEM mirrors online from www.car-part.com and having those painted by a shop. The fit and quality is much better than covers BUT also more expensive and labor/time intensive, I just didn't like the cover too much, to each their own - Hope that helps

I had the painted covers for like 2 yrs and no one could tell the difference.....BUT def. get a pro shop to paint them. But I did discover you can buy the 08-10 oem painted mirrors used for cheap and then have them paint matched for just a little more than the covers and paint.

Only reason I really say go with the OEM mirrors is cause they can literally be had for about the same as a decent set of covers go for. Paint will cost probably the same and anyone w/ some handy skills can swap mirrors. Def get OEM mirrors and have a shop do them, thread above this (body kit converion) guy did his and they look awesome!
