Dash kit install for anyone thinking about it

Well i did a lot of looking around this site for anyone who did a dash kit install. but didn't find one, so i bit the bullet and ordered one. It wasn't all good but defiantly not all bad either. some of the pieces didn't cover very well, like the center vents. and other pieces just looked like too much (sometimes less is more) so anyway i installed the pieces i liked and it came out pretty nice. One one of the pictures you can see where some of the silver was visible when the kit was on, so i used a black dry erase marker to cover it up so it wouldn't be visible and the dry erase wont damage the original silver trim. it can just be wiped off if i ever remove this trim. If anyone is thinking about getting a kit for there jeep and have any questions, just ask and i will try to help. But all in all i really like it much better than the silver diamond plate look.

This kit looks great. I've been thinking about doing this too, it classes up the interior alot.

i think alot of people are thinking of doing it, but are scared of how the kit might look. so thats why this thread might put some peoples fears at ease.

Re: Dash kit install for anyone thinking about it

Not to bad to install. Its has a 3m tape backing. just remove the film, clean the area where its going on and stick it on. just have to take your time because its very sticky, so i removed a small piece of the backing and stuck it on and peeled it off slowly as i moved down with it.
and i got it from a guy on ebay and he does have the brushed aluminum ones. for $150 shipped

Re: Dash kit install for anyone thinking about it

The only thing i realy didnt like about this kit is the door trim didnt wrap all the way down. I told the guy i bought it from and he said to take some pictures and he will make me a new pair that are longer and will wrap the whole trim piece. he seems like a great guy willing to help. so if anyone wants a kit, he has a lot of carbon fiber, aluminum, and wood ones. just ask me and i will send the link to his page (i dont know if its ok to post ebay links)

Re: Dash kit install for anyone thinking about it

Draft - that turned out decent. I haven't seen a kit that has a piece for the dome lights, that's a nice touch. I'm debating getting a dash kit or just getting my piece painted like Scott did. I thought maybe white with a nice pearl coat would look cool.

Re: Dash kit install for anyone thinking about it

The roof dome trim is what sold me on this kit. i have not found another kit with that, and i love the grey wood color in mine (matches the slate interior great), but a white pearl in yours should really look nice also.
