Re: Design my NEW headlights!

Just a heads up, my '08 headlight assemblies are a royal PITA to open. I spent about an hour on one last night and its still sealed tight. I also sort of melted a bit on one tab and put a hairline crack in that same tab while prying. I am going to have to go to a zen-like state to open these bad boys up. I'll keep you posted if I find any tricks.

Re: Design my NEW headlights!

[QUOTE=soontobesrt;236191]. You have any input on which projectors best for the Jeep housing cause I've never worked with any projectors first hand. IS space an issue, or could I run the E55 projectors? Why the TSX over the FX-R any reasons? Thanks!

Give them a call or send an e-mail they should know what your options are. Here is what Matt (the owner) @ TRS said in an e-mail to me that sold me on what I got. He also sent me this pic.

****We have actually helped quite a few Jeep SRT8 owners upgrade their headlights with a set of xenon or bi-xenon projectors, so I am already familiar with what will work well and what won't. Since you have separate halogen high beams in your housings, you don't need to use a bi-xenon projector, and therefore the TSX setup your interested in will definitely work well for this application.

The kit is built around the TSX projectors of course- which are perfect for the Jeep housings. The TSX's are always extremely popular for their amazing performance (really wide, uniformly lit, bright beam pattern with a great looking cutoff line) and relatively compact, easy to mount design.

Re: Design my NEW headlights!

kerndone with the proper epoxy you should be able to fix up the tabs good. i have some busted lights around here so if you need a piece or a tab let me know see what I have.

you must have tht glue that scott talks about on his. Is it clear?

Re: Design my NEW headlights!

yeah....they are heat or chemically bonded...not sealed with glue or anything. They actually bond the two pieces togetheer using some unknown process. the early 08 HID's were plagued with leaking problems and they redesigned them i guess you could say.....

Re: Design my NEW headlights!

I am rather unhappy right now. I can see that these are sealed with some black glue, so they don't appear to be bonded like the HID housings. However, these things will not come apart. I am chipping off pieces of the lens and actually breaking the housing around the lens. I am really pissed. If I was making some type of progress I could handle it, but I am getting nowhere. I suppose I have to sit on the investment and just wait till aftermarket housings come available. I just cannot open these housings. I guess I should have waited to buy the projectors.
