Dual 4' Antennas?

I'm planning ahead for my CB/PA setup and I've already picked out the Midland 1001z to fit in the compartment to the left of the steering wheel along with a PA from Radioshack that my friend has and recommended. Now I'm think I'll pick up two 4' fiberglass antennas.
http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2102430

I would be painting them black. I'm not very concerned with reception (or else I'd buy something better than the Midland). Fabbing up mounts like those that come out to the sides of the tail lights would probably be pretty easy. A couple springs to prevent them from snapping and I think I'd be all set.

Any input on looks or warnings about complications I may face?

Re: Dual 4' Antennas?

I did mine, and they make black antennas from Radio Shack already, so you don't have to paint them. I mounted my CB on the right of my driver leg. I also mounted the PA right in front underneath the front bumper lower lip. PM me with any questions.

Do you have a link to the black ones? I asked the guy in the store and he said he had never seen them in there in black and I wasn't able to find them on the website.

Thanks, will do but this project may not be coming for another month or so depending on my financial situation.

I don't really care about any reception in my car. I only ever listen to my ipod and I don't plan to use my CB except as a PA 99% of the time.

Just ordered a set of dual black 4' fiberglass antennas from eBay for $23 shipped. Hopefully they're work just as well as the $65 set from Radioshack

Re: Dual 4' Antennas?

I only tested the CB when I got it, never really use it. Waiting for this spring to head out in the woods and use it with my buddies.
