Re: FlashTech GB - WK/SRT8

so we just need to tap this along the positive wire somewhere in between the battery and the halos?

Solid color...not dimmed down:

Re: FlashTech GB - WK/SRT8

If you use less voltage you can make out the LEDs. Here is a single ring powered up with a 9v battery.

Ignore the hand prints.....I guess I should have wiped down the exterior of the lens prior to taking the pic, LOL.

Re: FlashTech GB - WK/SRT8

Hey guys,

I have taken some time to read this thread. The people who opted to go with two colors in one ring, as stated when we did this one circuit is one color while another circuit is another color.

So all odd led's would be white and all even led's are another color. Because of this they will never look as close together as a single color. I thought we made that pretty clear going into this, but I apologize if their was confusion.

we ran these led's at 14v because
1) it would be cheaper because of no need for a regulator
2) rings I make that are dual circuits usually work well at 14 volts because they disperse heat better
3) 14v is just the max voltage the led's run at, if the car is putting out less voltage the rings will just run at that voltage.

Once my new shipment of regulators come in if you would like to purchase some we can work out a deal but for the people running dual colors you will need two regulators.

Steve

Re: FlashTech GB - WK/SRT8

hey steve i think the MAIN concern that started a discussion about regulators is we are seeing quite a few peeps lose the 3 leds here and there. i know you guys will fix the rings; the problem comes in when we have the rings sealed in headlights and all that it takes to get them fixed.

and guys; please correct me if i am wrong???

so that said, will running a regulator say at 10 or 12 volts help keep the rings working longer? i know the 3 led failures are the resistor and not the LED itself but will less voltage be BETTER for longevity ??

and I thought things were clear in the GB that a 2 color ring is NOT the same as a single color. for me I THINK its just cuase the rings are so huge it looks a bit funny.....

but I knew what i bought./

Re: FlashTech GB - WK/SRT8

EXACTLY what Rob said!!!

Im not worried about replacements

its all the time and effort to remove the lights that Im worried about......this Jeep is my DD

so if a regulator cut off at 10 or 12 volts MAY help in regards to longevity/ ring failure....count me in for a set please!!
