Fog lights on with highs

I haven't read anything on here about doing this so i figure i would make a post. I rerouted my relay harness for my fogs and lows so that the passenger side is on one harness and the drivers is on the other. in doing so it allows me to wire up my fogs into the same relay harness and im able to have my fogs and lows function as one allowing me to have my highs on at the same time too! Its going to be bright when the high beam hid's get here!!! just thought id share............

Re: Fog lights on with highs

sounds sweet. i heard that the dealership can use their scanner to just flash the pcm and make them work at the same time as the brights but its illegal to have both functioning so they'd have to hook you up on the DL lol. most places won't do it tho

How is it illegal? Just too much light? I remember reading somewhere that you can do some rewiring to make it work, but I have no clue exactly how.

It's illegal in the US to have more than 4 foreword facing lights on while on a public road. That's why they go off on cars that are not bi-xenon.

yeah i believe just cuz its too bright. sounds stupid but most driving laws are lol. and i know you can get a kit off ebay to bypass it but i havent really looked into how it works. i think its just a relay with some plugs lol. it would look like an electrical mess if you installed it but hey.. you can have the fogs and brights on at the same time!

Haha well they are really saving lives with that law... Especially since you turn your beams off before reaching other cars. Pretty stupid rule. But it's not for me... I really don't mind having either on at different times.

no dealership is going to do it because its not legal and only the dealership computer can do this so you cant pay a private garage so i started thinking and came up with the solution. it should work with or without hids. all your doing is changing the power source to link them together without hacking wires

All you have to do is find somebody with Star Mobile, I've done about 25 of these reprograms.

No muss or fuss and no hacked wiring harness.

FOGS go off in every car when the high beams go on
