You tape around the amber part along whatever lines you'd like to keep clear. I sprayed directly on the headlight cover - didn't want to risk a bad seal taking them apart.

Yes. I made the mistake of using it on the entire headlight and it looked blotchy when the lights were on so I used Lacquer Thinner to remove it. Takes some scrubbing but it came off really cleanly. And thanks for the rep =)

Re: Front End Mods

GCL, had any issues w/cops and the tails? I live in NC too and I love the tinted tails just not trying to have another reason to be hassled by "the man"

also I was looking under where you removed the air dam, you should go across that lil lip with black paint. The "ruffled" lip. Just imo

like so..

No issues actually. I didn't make them really black for this reason and when the sun hits them the red reflects out well enough. I just got some better contrast with darkened tails and the clear reflector. I had a cop sitting right behind me for a couple mins at a long light yesterday and he didn't pay the slightest attention. The only complication might be passing inspection as it's currently illegal to tint brake lights at all. I think if I can find a tool to remove the 3rd brake to tint it too they'll match and pretty much look like they could be stock.

I've considered painting that section but I hope to get a black 4xGuard skid plate on there ASAP so I didn't think it would be worth the effort. Still bothers me to see it there though so I might get tired of waiting haha

Re: Front End Mods

nice. Yea I was just thinking a light covering on the tail lights. Guess you can always bring it home and strip the tint off if the inspection fails. yea I want to get the 4xguard skid plate too. Amongst a bunch of other stuff they have. I just wish I could win the lottery!!

Lacquer thinner took the VHT Nightshades off my headlights pretty easy when they turned out blotchy. Imagine it should work just as well for getting it off the tails if need be but I love the way it turned out - every line's perfect. I might just ask if I can swap tails with someone for inspection day and swap back after. Plenty of stock WKs at my school.

I'm still going to try to find a way to get the 4x front hitch receiver on with my existing brush guard still there, I'm going to be buying the skid, and I'm getting the Rola rack come summer to replace the snowboard racks. The lottery would be awesome but just some work hours would be a more realistic hope. Haven't worked much since Nov. and not at all the past month since I sell plants at an outdoor nursery and only a few mentally unstable customers will come in to buy plants when its cold. $700 for insurance is due in March, you'd think my rates would start dropping - 3rd payment and 0 reported accidents (got clipped by a guy who wasn't on the road and then got rear ended by a chick on the way to school), not too bad for 17

Re: Front End Mods

yea think I'm going to pick up some the the VHT.

I want to get the rola rack to keep a spare, I know I'll be changing the whole center of gravity thing but keeping the spare deflated underneath is sketchy to me and need room for the dogs and bs in the cargo area. Tried the lotto and it doesn't work well for me. Change jar and saving what I can after bills is where I'm at. 17 has its benefits believe me! lol!

There was some VHT on Amazon for like $12 shipped I think?

I'll be needing the rack for roadtrips with friends. I don't even have a spare the size of my new 265s

I keep the stock one in the garage at home and will continue to until I have a long trip planned. Figure my mom will be able to drive to bring me the spare if need be so why weigh the Jeep down when I don't go more than 10 miles from home 99% of the time and I typically know beforehand when trips are coming up. Maybe I'll sell the tire I've got and pick up a used one closer to my current size somewhere.

Haha, I'm not even old enough to try to win 17 really does have advantages though! Room and board are covered, clothes are somewhat covered, all that's left for me to take care of is insurance, gas, and entertainment.
