Re: front window TINT

i was just going to tell them that I wanted to know if they can write me a note to get tint on my front windows. I have really bad eyesight and wear contacts which are more sensitive to light. Think that would work? I dont realy want to be diagnosed with something.

Re: front window TINT

Not to throw cold water on your plans for deception .......

I'd be real cautious about attempting to get a doc to declare you have a medical need for tinted windows. Once that gets into your medical records, it will follow you the rest of your life. Might cause problems down the road regarding desired employment, health insurance coverage and who really knows what else.

I was thinking of going to my eye doctor and asking for him to write me a permission to get front window tint. I guess my only reason would be because I have extremely poor eyesight and have to wear contacts which are more sensitive to light. I was also going to say that wearing sunglasses give me headaches and cant wear them because of this. What do you guys think? Im not sure how much tint you can get under medical reasons.
You have to be careful with this... I did like you suggested, and went to my eye doctor and got a prescription for some bs light sensitivity thingy.

In Michigan you have to fill out a application for tinted front windows and also send in the prescription. They review it and if accepted send a letter back and you take that to the SOS and they put that endorsement on your DL.

This is the part that is tricky. The tinted endorsement is just like a corrective lens endorsement. If you get pulled over in a vehicle that does not have tint you could get a ticket, just as if someone was cought driving without glasses.

I myself have tinted windows on all my vehicles and do not have a endorsement, but I do carry the prescription with me and it did get me out of a ticket once. Being someone that has 9 points on their license beleive me I've been pulled over my fare share!!

Re: front window TINT

in PA the law is very bland and left open to interpretation. it is something like "you have to be able to see through the windows" i have 15% and you can easily see through them. i have had them tinted for several years and never had a problem with the law. cops here are mainly after cars thats have tint, no cars after 1999 were allowed to have any tint at all. SUVs, vans and trucks were given an exemption for their rear windows and the front falls under that poorly written law

Really only have been pulled over once for tinted windows and yes once I showed the prescription he didn't even ask for my drivers license.
