Sweet! My "other" jeep is a '98 5.9 Limited. I have some neat mods done to it as well. I basically did the opposite of what we just did with your tails - I converted them from 3-wire down to 2-wire.

My 5.9 is kinda the "yin" to my SRT's "yang", lol. The SRT is a pavement pounder, the 5.9 will be my lifted offroad rig!

X2 on the lighter tint. If you have a good-looking set of lights (like the euro's), I think a very light "smoking" of the light looks really good. I have a very light tint on my 5.9's LED tails. If it weren't for the clear reverse section, you'd hardly be able to even tell they were tinted.

hahaha nice jason, my other jeep currently is the 2005 5.7 limited v8. i still have my XJ as well as a beater XJ for parts. nothing too nice to my first V8 ZJ (not the 9'er. it was the 5.2 in green color, tan interior) since i got it on a january evening and hit the phucking buck on february 9th!! (i had it for like 3 weeks ) i still remember that night/day--those events stick out like nothing else. my other ZJ was a winter beater i did nothing but produce tint tickets for 50% on the doors.

Come to Wyoming. You can have up to 73% tint "legally" on any new vehicle, but cops never hassle you about it unless you piss them off. Currently, all of my vehicles have 80% tint all the way around.

I also have a '78 Ford pickup. Since it was mfd prior to the institution of tint laws in WY in 1996, it can have whatever you want on it. So my truck has limo tint all the way around (5% light transmission). It's dark. Good thing I have HID reverse lights and a backup camera or you'd never be able to back that thing at night, LOL!

You'll like the reverse HID's. Do you have a backup cam? If you do, when you throw it in reverse it looks like freaking daytime. Backing my SRT at night is so easy.

How are you modding them? If it were me I would have just slipped one of them HID donuts between the housing and the circuit board and epoxied everything in place. Make sure you post pics of the results!

so what bulb type are you using to do this mod you describe??

H10/9006/9005...does it even matter?

any particular epoxy you prefer?

obviously you guys are using a digital slim line hid ballast for easier mounting correct?
