Finally got around to covering the ugly wood trim pieces in the 07' WK with some CF vinyl. I ordered 2'x4' sheet of the CF vinyl figuring I'd make a few mistakes along the way. Good thing too, as some of the pieces had to be done two or three times till I got the hang of working with the stuff. It isn't really hard to work with but there is definitely a learning curve to getting it right.

All in all, I'd say things didn't turn out half bad. :pimp:

That looks great! I would consider doing something like this, but I actually like my Laredo's "diamond plate" trim pieces. I just wish there was something I could do with my side vents...

Man that looks sweet how long did it take to install all that.

Thanks for the kudos!

I purchased the vinyl from Metro Restyling - http://www.metrorestyling.com/

They have pretty good pricing on a couple types of vinyl. The felt on the one end of the squeegee is so that you don't scratch/rrip the vinyl if you need to push hard to release a bubble or something. As far as tips? Just be sure to give yourself a lot of time so you won't have to rush. Be sure the trim pieces are clean and dry. What I found works best for the openings in the trim pieces is to stick the vinyl to the flat sections first, hit the vinyl covering the open area of the piece with a heat gun, push the vinyl slightly into the open, then cut out a hole leaving enough to wrap the vinyl around the edge and on to the back side.

All in all it probably took me 3hrs or so with a lot of that time spent removing the trim pieces, removing the controls from the trim pieces and cleaning them up. The actual application of the vinyl goes rather quickly.

Looks really good! By the way, where'd ya get the shifter knob and was it a direct fit?

The shifter knob is a skull that can be purchased at just about any autozone, pep boys or advanced auto. It comes with a bunch of plastic spacers and one fits perfectly on the WK.

Love it! Ive had the silver and dark carbon Neffy wrap sitting in m garage opened for like 6 MONTHS! LMAO, I know exactly what to do and Ive had time but for some reason every time I go to start Mr. Neffy, I get side tracked. Mod stuff just keeps stacking up, its ridiculous, good problem to have I guess

There's a link up above in one of my posts to the online site where I purchased the vinyl. Something like metroresyling.

I purchased a 2' by 4' piece of the vinyl which is plenty if you don't screw up and have to redo a few pieces. Probably have about 1/3 of the stuff left over. As for adhesive, I didn't use one but did purchase the cleaner available from the site which also can be used to help position the vinyl on the trim pieces.
