We recently introduced the Philips X-treme Ultinon LED Bulbs and we've been getting many questions from customers relating to the performance of these LED bulbs vs. halogen bulbs in their fog lights.

One of our customers (GreatAvalon) recently took the time post a review and some awesome pictures showing the difference between the Philips LED bulbs and halogen bulbs in his Toyota Camry. Not only did our customer to take the time to post up comparison pictures between the two but also went into detail regarding the product and results.

The pictures below show how much of an improvement the Philips X-treme Ultinon LED Fog light bulbs are over the standard halogen bulbs. Not only are they brighter but they also have a whiter look to them.

I have these on my 2014. I have pics of install etc. that I will be putting up asap. But you guys know I wouldn't lead you astray. These fog bulbs are awesome....2400 lumens...just like the stock...but 6000k in color. If you have the ultinon d3s headlight bulbs in your 2014...these match perfectly. Huge difference between the cree I had and these. The Cree's were just for show....these are the real deal and worth EVERY penny!

Any updates on the install pics? I'm looking into replacing my stock fog light bulbs (2015 JGC Limited - Lux II, ORA II, TTG IV, ATG) with the updated version of the Philips Ultinon LED's or Osram Night Breaker Unlimited H11. Another consideration would be the Philips CrystalVision Ultra H11. I would like to find something that matches the stock low beam HID color, but also has a similar lumen output of the stock fogs. Any thoughts?

I have a thread on how to install with pics

This pic shows just the fogs on

The phillips ultinon fogs were a HUGE improvement over the stock and other LED bulbs Ive tried....no contest.

Since I have a 2013 with the psx24w bulbs, are there any aftermarket bulbs that would throw off more light instead of going with the jw speaker alternative? Obviously the speaker fog lights are awesome, but I'd rather not spend 360 for them..

Unfortunately, they are only available in H11 at the moment.

Steve
oh okay. what can you recommend then for H10 fogs? Also a little off the topic but what can you recommend for 9005/9006 headlight bulbs?

I have a question. I've looked to see if I could figure it out on my own but I get all confused with h11 this, led that and Hid whose it... lol

I just bought a 2014 GC Summit. I want to replace the fog lights so they come closer to matching the color of the LED DRLs and the headlights. The current fogs have more of a yellow color while the others are more white.

Can I just get a bulb that I can swap out with the stock ones to accomplish this? If so what bulb would this be?

Forgive me ignorance and such. I just want to keep it as simple as possible.

Thank you in advance.

Steve, I would like to do the same conversion as collosus76. I would like to swap out the bulb in the fog lights to give the same look as the drl's.
With the H11 LED bulb would I need to add anything else to make like load RESISTOR for it to work properly or is it just a simple swap out. Would halogen bulbs be okay as well.
If so would 5000k or 6000k match up better on the 2014 JGC.
Please educate me as I am a novice.
Difference between the $179 LED bulb and the $39.99
Can you provide a link to what I would need for the simple conversion.
Thanks

Hi Steve,

I have a 2012 Grand Cherokee Laredo (altitude edition) with the halogen bulb housings. Would these LEDs be a direct fit for me and be plug and play? I'm really trying to find the best led headlight bulb upgrade out there to upgrade my halogens.

Thanks,

Johnny

My car does have DRLs but I was able to get them disabled at the dealership. Ideally I would prefer HID but am not sure how complicated the wiring harness situation would be (and what I would need). Also, I do not have projector headlights so that is why I was looking at leds as a possible alternative.

Ultimately, I'd LOVE to go with these eagle eye headlights that some members have had success with but I'm still hesitant until I can understand exactly what I'd be getting myself into.

Thanks for the response!

Do you have a recommendation on an HID conversion kit that xenon depot sells which will work with my vehicle? With the harness and h11 bulbs needed to do a full conversion? I apologize if there's already a lot of information elsewhere on this, but if anyone has a link on doing a full halogen to hid conversion on a wk2 I'd really appreciate it! I'll look around the forums as well. Thanks for all the info!

Hi Steve,

I have a 2012 Laredo X and I just swapped out the factory fog lights with the Quadratec LED upgraded lamps. I am not sure on the specs but I can tell you they are nice and white, very crisp. I purchased PIAA bright white bulbs for the headlights to try and match from another website but they screwed up, sent me the wrong ones.....needless to say, I have no desire to reorder from them. What set up would you recommend to give me best match? I searched XenonDepot's site by my vehicle and there are quite a few choices. Any help would be great.

To my knowledge, the factory bulbs are as follows: low beam = h11; high beam = 9005. I'm not sure but I don't think I have daytime running lights.

Hi, @ToneBone:

Kelvin - i personally am a fan of 4300k for the brightest, whitest, and most OEM functionality. You mentioned that you have LED fog lights installed, which may be closer to 6000k -- so just giving you aheads up that if you go with a 4300k kit they may not match your fog lights.

Link to Kit: I would go with our 2012 Grand Cherokee specific HID Kit kit to ensure you get the components you need for your vehicle:

Hi Steve,

I was able to figure out that the Quadratec LED fogs are 5800k so that helps me with choosing colors. So what is the big difference or benefit of the H11 LED kit vs. H11 HID Kit | Xtreme HID? Other than light output....seems that LEDs have a much longer lifespan (50k hours vs. 2500-3000 hours). Also, I'm not sure if I have CANbus or DRLs. Is there a way to confirm? Thanks for the help.
