Hellwig Coil Spring Compressor Kit??

Hey all...I happened to run across this earlier...do these work? What's the catch? I am wanting to lower my GC and had looked at Eibach and had googled Eibach looking for pics and found this product. What do you guys know about this? It seems too simple...

Re: Hellwig Coil Spring Compressor Kit??

Not saying i would recommend it, but my buddy and I lowered my jeep without a spring compressor. It really didn't seem like the springs were under too much pressure, they only popped out about 2 inches once the bolt was removed.

Nevermind, I should have clicked on the link first, i thought it was a spring compressor tool. I would swap out the springs if you want to lower it.

Re: Hellwig Coil Spring Compressor Kit??

That would probably cause a horrible ride. Bouncy almost.

A buddy of mine heated his on his eclipse and it was terrible! I believe bilstein springs arent much more than that kit and you will much more satisfied with the ride and handling.

Re: Hellwig Coil Spring Compressor Kit??

Yeah, those seem really sketchy. At first I thought I was looking at spring compressors to remove the springs, then realized you're supposed to leave those in?! lol crazy!

Re: Hellwig Coil Spring Compressor Kit??

Ha ha...thanks for the feedback everyone. I thought it was crazy too. Obviously 3" is a pretty intense drop anyway but just to imagine that shoved in a space made to be comfortable without the extra hardware, probably not a good idea nor safe!! I just wanted to see if anyone here had heard of these crazy things.

Re: Hellwig Coil Spring Compressor Kit??

If you wanted to have a SAFE drop go with Air Ride.

I looked into slamming my JGC, but this requires frame modification and others cutting so I decided not to for the $

^^Thats the discussion thread
www.Airbagit.com is the place to go
