BEHOLD!

Just out of the package, actually better than I expected.

All in about an hours work with a friend of mine! Not bad at all.

Re: Help new 2013 grand cherokee trim modifications

Nice! I just installed mine today. It was a pice of cake. It's amazing how modular they are. I'm just as pleased as you with the results.

I'm now on to replacing the chrome litigate handle with the altitude edition version. Has anyone found instructions for that anywhere? If not, I'll put some together as I go this afternoon.

Congrats on the upgrade!

Yes, I did that the same day. Very easy as well. I followed those instruction above as well.

Re: Help new 2013 grand cherokee trim modifications

Sorry to revive this old thread, but are you able to remove the black indents separate from the mesh grille? I have a 2011 summit and want to get the 2014 look by having the inserts and rings chrome with the black frame.

Re: Help new 2013 grand cherokee trim modifications

The grill inserts and rings are swappable between any 2011-2013 grill. However, I believe, but I'm not certain, that the 2014 grills are not compatible with 2011-2013 models. Likewise, the 2014 rings and inserts are not compatible with 2011-2013 grills. If you can find the rings and inserts from a 2011-2013 grill, they should fit in yours, but I have no idea if they made those. If you find out that I'm wrong about the compatibility, I'd love to know. G'luck!

Re: Help new 2013 grand cherokee trim modifications

Yeah all i've seen is the main grille part number, not the rings or inserts. I think I'm going to get the grille installed above and see if it looks good, if not I'll try and wrap the rings or 1 for 1 swap with someone.

Re: Help new 2013 grand cherokee trim modifications

My grille finally arrived! I went from this:

to this:

I ultimately want it to look similar to the 2014 Summit with the chrome rings and mesh with the body color background:
[/URL]
I'm going to take the bumper off and finish putting this on tomorrow. I tried to just take the insert off today, but couldn't get it to fully sit without risking damage to the bumper paint. You can see in this picture that the painted cover doesn't sit perfectly in the Summit backing.

I looked at the backing that came with the SRT grille and they looked the same, so I'm not sure where it was getting caught. Thats partly why I want to take the bumper off. If I have to I'll cut the SRT support and glue the Summit chrome inserts onto it. They match perfectly the opening on the SRT one.

I also ordered chrome vinyl wrap for the 7 rings. I cannot wait to see this come together!

Re: Help new 2013 grand cherokee trim modifications

This is amazing- can't believe I've not seen this thread before. I've always wanted the SRT grill on my 2012, but was convinced from everything else I read that I would need to change the fender flares, side skirts, etc because the SRT grill will not fit without replacing the other parts also.

So, to make sure I'm clear on this... this grill fits the 2011-2103 GC like OEM, and has the rings that can be removed to swap or paint/ wrap chrome?? Wish I could order it with the chrome rings but I'll take this and wrap or paint them as long as they can be removed. Thanks.

Dslide, have you gotten any response on this? I am wanting to do the very same thing. I have a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, which I want to install the SRT8 Vapor grille (5NK26AXRAB) on, but am hesitant. Every other thread I have read on Jeepgarage says that the SRT8 Grille WILL NOT fit a non SRT8 without some sort of modification or some serious muscle/force fitting. Please see the threads linked below:

SRT Grille redux

SRT8 Grill on Non-SRT8 GCs... first try.

The two members in this thread seem to have installed the SRT8 Vapor Grille on their Non SRT8s without a problem/modification/force-fit.
