Re: HID for MOST bright??

id say go with the 3k fogs and 5k lows.... I just find it weird to have two different hues of colors if you go 6k on the lows n 3k on fogs. just imagine blue n yellow infront of u while driving.

Agreed... 4300K is brightest in terms of lumens. The higher in K you go, the lower lumens. I saw some jacked up Ram tonight driving home that probably had 12K or 15K HID's in his fogs... they were PURPLE.

Exactly, all canadian vehicles are required to run DRL, when you put the HID kit in, the kit will flicker due to the DRL. So how are you planning on making this work? I'm curious as I want to get a HID also, but don't want the hastle of spending to much time trying to make them work.

Yes in tecnical terms 4300k is brighter. We all know the projectors only project the light where it needs to be. My GF IS250 projects light out further but on the ground in the first 60-100 feet or so mine are brighter. I really don't think mine are that blinding. So far I haven't been flashed. I do agree it throws light all over. Even when Irf, Fabs, Joe, Mario and I met up. When we were in the mall parking lot and we all had our lights on looking at Fabs new projectors. Fabs and My gf IS projected light out further just Joe and Irf's trucks lit up the ground more.

Headlights are intended to light up the road well in front of you, not 60 feet.

60 miles per hour = 88 feet per second, so even just traveling 30 mph you are going to cover that 60 feet in just over one second. I'd rather see farther down the road than right in front of me. Average human reaction time is .215 seconds, so traveling at 60 MPH before you even react you have traveled almost 20 feet.

Re: HID for MOST bright??

its not that they dont go far... they go a little further than your reg lights without hids and they are just 100x brighter! if you are on a dark road and no one else is on the road, you can turn on your high beams!

Re: HID for MOST bright??

I'll follow up my post by saying that I have HID in the stock housings, and its tons better than the stock halogens but I'd love to get some projectors.

Re: HID for MOST bright??

they arent as wide because of the light scatter. I never realized this till my wife followed me one night in my Jeep before i got projectors. I could absolutely see nothing in my rearview mirrors. So we did some tests......and it was the same with her traveling in my direction im my Jeep. The HID lights in the halogen lenses are aweful. Just becasue no one hasnt flashed you doesnt mean oncoming drivers havent been blinded. I didnt get flashed hardly at all either. But if your honest and watch the opposing drivers coming at you....you will see you HID's lighting up the interior of their cars and them struggling to see. Just being honest....and this is coming from someone who had HID's in regular housings.

Who wouldn't. It depends on the conditions of the road. Jeep put the stock halogen bulbs and that was ok by dot standards. The aftermarked hid's are a hell of a lot better than the stock halogen's so it can't be as bad as some are saying. I'm not trying to take credit away from projectors or anything. Just both have their benifits...
