Re: Hid installation

I wouldn't worry about power consumption. I was running HIDs in the ZJ with a kick ass sound system with no problems.

i thought so too, but i went for it just for shits and giggles since its easy to change the bulbs, and surprisingly, its not too blue...IMO it looks alright, i think 6000k would look better, but 8000k isnt ricey at all, thats just my opinion of course

Re: Hid installation

Depending on the kit, 8K doesn't look "too blue". I went with 6K since I need the light output were i live.....

Yep, I love my 6500K. I used to have 8000K and they are way to blue

Re: Hid installation

I just did mine a few days ago. took me a while only because I removed the bumper and grill to make it a nice clean install... you dont have to though. as long as you secure it...

literally, would take you between 1-2 hours MAX for fogs AND lows...

IMHO I would not mess with any of those kits you have posted !!!

We have 2 vendors here, who are far and beyond better than what those other guys have to offer

Xenondepot - Excellent product claimed by the users of it, have not used it personally and Steve is a great guy to deal with. The price is a little steep but the quality is good.

Xentec, baja HID's sold by Tony - Those are the best bang for your buck. I have installed them and haven't had a single problem with them, it's been on my ride for about 8 months now ... here's a link to how it looks on mine

I would stick to these two vendors who are well known JG supporters and back their products with excellent customer service and warranties.

If so, what do I need to get from that page?

6000K: http://www.kbcarstuff.com/Volt_HID_6...m?1=1&CartID=0
OR*
http://www.kbcarstuff.com/Xtreme_Dig...m?1=1&CartID=0

I'm really sorry guys, I'm a noob.....
with the Volt kits you will need to buy relay harnesses(one for each lamp). The Xtreme kits come with the 2 harnesses needed. All oem HID lamps are 4300-4500k. To get that blueish-white like the luxury cars you mentioned...youll need the 6000k. The 8000k has a bluish/purplish tint to it.

Re: Hid installation

I went to go check out Xenon Xtreme lights and it directly linked me to that kbcarstuff.com website. So aren't they the same thing? and I just saw a post by Tony(?) on vendors section. http://www.jeepgarage.org/showthread...631#post233631

Can I just get this kid for 70 bucks? or 80 bucks with a relay kit then will I be set?
