Re: HID Lows

ok so now I have determined it is not the bulb that is the culprit. WTF??? So now the drivers side is not working, but the passenger side is with both bulbs. IDK what could be the issue? To recap, yesterday only the drivers side worked with one bulb, then switched the bulbs and passenger side worked. Now I am triple checking and the drivers side will not come on with either bulb, but the passenger will fire up with both bulbs. I cehcked the grounds again and sanded some more...but the weird this is that the drivers side worked b/c I have pics. Please help

PICS DELETED...I AM A TARD

any ideas gents???

Re: HID Lows

I hate to say it, because I know you feel so sure, but really make sure those grounds are sanded down to bare metal. When you think it's there, go a little longer. Make sure that ground connection is VERY tight too.

YOU CANNOT CUT CORNERS WHEN GROUNDING

I'm sure I'm telling you stuff you've already gone over, but make sure each and every connection is firmly connected. Make sure the relay is properly connected and the battery connection is tight.

If it worked at one point, it really makes me think it is a connection issue.

It sucks to hear what you already know, but sometimes it takes hearing it to go back over it again.

Good luck man, keep us updated!

Re: HID Lows

haha, good to see you got it figured out. If you still doubt your ground locations, do what Scott suggested and return the ground to the factory location.

Yeah, x2! After sooo many horror stories I was just expecting/awaiting having to troubleshoot once I got everything hooked up. Triple checking connections and having solid grounds FTW! (Brad)

Re: HID Lows

Answer:

No. I did a road test in a hilly area and did not have anyone flash brights...behind small compacts I am not shining into rear view mirror, and they are level with each other.

Talk to me about what I need to do

And it wasn't a ground issue...the connection from the ballast to the relay was not tight...I unplugged and replugged and it snapped in (DUH) I feel like a tard

Ah, okay, gotcha.

I'm not really sure there is a 100% perfect method. I think what you did is just about the best you can do.

I did pretty much the same. I started with both lamps pointed all the way down and cranked them up to where both were exactly level and what I thought was a good stopping point. I did a road test as you did. I drove my moms car (coupe - low to the ground) and she trailed me in my Jeep. I did some slight adjusting to what I set them at and voila! Good enough for me, haha.

I was just curious if you had a better method, lol.
