Original Message:

So I am in the process of installing my HID's but I ran into some issues. Here are some pics...My drivers side is working but is making a very high pitch whine, is that normal? The passenger side is hooked up the same way but is not working...any ideas???

PICS DELETED

Re: HID Lows

thanks bro it is the same kit from xenondepot...I think the whine is a natural thing too...just was loud

I figured out the problem: BAD BULB. I put the good bulb into the passenger side and it fired right up...so I need a new bulb

Re: HID Lows

Hmm, interesting. I don't have any high pitched whines or noises. Mind you I have Xentec slim ballasts. Meh.

Brad, if I was you I'd go back and sand down the grounds (judging by the pic you posted). Ideally you want that spade connector touching bare metal. Whether it's a problem now or not, it's a good idea.

I'd also email or call Steve from XD to be sure that the high pitched noise is normal.

Re: HID Lows

I sanded down the gounds pretty good, so I am confident thats not the problem. in the pics you can see areas i sanded, but under the washers it is down to bare metal. it is for sure a bad bulb...I have an email into Steve and I am sure he will take care of it.

Okay, gotcha. Just wasn't 100% sure from the pics. Aside from the bulb issue everything looks good man! 'Grats!

Re: HID Lows

the whining is normal even for stock HIDs. as for the light not workin, use a realy for both lights. some times u need relays for cars other times you dont. i recommend using relays on lights due to the fact that some cars factory wiring and relays may fualter under the use of stronger lights. if the kit came with relays, make sure that they are properly grounded.
