Hid Question???

I installed lows and fogs Hid's on my 05 WK and want to know if anyone has seen a fluttering of the lights. I installed the relay on the lows and just plugged the fogs in. They both work but when they get warm they both have a fluttering look on the garage wall. It looks like I have a huge cam in the car and the lights are bouncing around. I turn the car off and they do the same thing. Any ideas????
Thanks in advance.

Jay

Re: Hid Question???

some times the fogs require a relay, but mine didnt. what kind of relay did you use? individual relays or one for both sides? where did you ground it? what kind of HIDs did you buy? alot of times it is just junk bulbs, junk ballasts or a bad ground.

Re: Hid Question???

I am using a single relay on the low beams. Fogs didn't need one. I got the relay from a friend who didn't need it on his car. The relay has 2 grounds both grounded to a factory ground on the sides of the engine compartment. I got my kit here http://tripscustoms.com/index.php?cPath=32. It weird because the fogs and the low beams are doing the same thing. One with a relay and one without.

Re: Hid Question???

I added a Xenondepot superslim HID kit to my fogs and it needed relays

Re: Hid Question???

This is so weird. Do you think it is a cheap kit? It doesn't flutter until the ballast are warmed up.

Re: Hid Question???

It is safe to have relays on both the fogs and low beams.

check your grounds also, mine fluttered until i fixed the grounds.

Re: Hid Question???

i would double check the grounds first. i originally bought a cheap HID kit for my lows and they flickered like yours and it was because of bad ballasts. once i installed the OEM HIDS they havent flickered once. i have a cheap HID setup on my fogs but they have not flickered at all. there is such poor quality control on the kits out there that its hit or miss. xenondepot seems to value quality control alot so if you are going to go with another set i would check them out. Re: Hid Question???

I have double-checked my grounds and can only come to the conclusion that it must be the ballast. The company I bought the kit from is a brick and mortar company so I will see if they can help me out on Monday. If not I will be calling xenondepot. Every keep talking about him so they must be doing something right. Don't they have a discount for members?
