Re: Interior LED's - Footwells, Glove box & Tailgate

hey guys, might be a dumb question, sorry if i missed the answer, but what bulb does the glove box take?

also how did you guys get to your map bulbs front and rear, do the clear covers just pop out? if so what did you use to pop them out?

Re: Interior LED's - Footwells, Glove box & Tailgate

I'm fairly certain the glove box is a 194.

The write-up here was very helpful...I used a small screwdriver.

Re: Interior LED's - Footwells, Glove box & Tailgate

Read the thread bro...all you need to do is install it in parallel with the load...most install it in the rear liftgate socket itself...if this doesnt answer your question, I suggest you do some more research!

So if all I want to do is this mod to my lights on my trunk I will/will not need a resistor? I do not care to do this to the entire interior, but I just want to see in my back when I open it at night. I just keep reading and see half and half about this light fading theory.

Re: Interior LED's - Footwells, Glove box & Tailgate

Instll the new light in your liftgate. If it "glows" when your lights are turned off then you will need it otherwise you will NOT need it.If im correct it seems like the only people with this problem are those of us who have all interior leds intstalled.Hope this straightens things up a bit.

Anyone care to elaborate on this? I've been busy, but would like to get this done before it gets too cold here. Again I am clueless when it comes to this stuff. "Parallel with the load", "in the socket itself"? Does soldering need to be done or can I just wedge each end of the resistor between the bulb and the socket on both sides?

Re: Interior LED's - Footwells, Glove box & Tailgate

You could try to wedge it in there, but it's not going to have good contact. Soldering would be the best bet or be lazy and do what I did and just leave the rear lift gate bulb as stock and you don't need any resistors.

Re: Interior LED's - Footwells, Glove box & Tailgate

I've heard some bad stories about Vleds and them catching fire. I'd get the bulbs from XD.
