Hmm let's see, the bumper cost me 0 dollars, 80 bucks to ship to border, 60 bucks in gas to pick it up, 50 bucks to fix the TINY crack and my friend has a body shop who does the paint. So explain to me how a 900 dollar bumper after shipping from ebay, justforjeeps, dealership which needs paint anyways is better then a free small cracked bumper???

Its a small crack Scott, plus I've already got my body shop to look at the photos, mike has sent me more photos then jeepgarage has seen. Its a 50 dollar fix like I've already mentioned.

Re: Klutch's 22" Comp Grey SRT8 Reps on Nitto 420s Tires

theres PAINTED brand new unbondo'ed bumpers on ebay for $900 shipped. Ive seen them sell for $100-300 on ebay and then $300 for paint......your buying a busted up bumper and hoping someone can fix it for $50. Bondo on a plastci bumper wont last a year...if that. Dont waste my time newb.

Who said anything about using bondo? Scott it will be done properly. I don't need to spend way more on a bumper ok

Re: Klutch's 22" Comp Grey SRT8 Reps on Nitto 420s Tires

how they gonna fix that "small crack" then and for $50? By the way...pics of the bumper are right here on JG. The hole.....yes hole is the size of a softball as quoted by downstate and the pass side of the bumper is pushed up on the bottom lip. I would also guess the mounting holes are broken and twisted. Its right there in pics.

^^^^^^^^^^ If that's the case it sure isn't an easy repair, IF it's repairable at all!

Re: Klutch's 22" Comp Grey SRT8 Reps on Nitto 420s Tires

I haven't seen the bumper but when I bought my bumper it had a cracked mounting clip on the right upperside that connects to the wheel well and a dimple the size of a soft ball and the dealership said they couldn't do anything for me. I took it to a local body shop and they fixed it for $150 with fresh paint and clear coat... no problems as of yet. However, if it's twisted or has more than a few broken tabs then I wouldn't go for it. But then again it's free and if you know the body shop then it's not impossible. My R1 had some major plastic damage and the dealer repaired the holes and cracks like they weren't ever there... strong as ever. So it's not impossible but then again I have not seen pics of this bumper that you two are disagreeing about. Scott you seem to be a nice guy and have a great deal of knowledge about this stuff but Kyle's still young and not as situated as you so if he thinks he can go down this route to save a lil bit of $$$ we should support him. Isn't this the whole purpose of this forum. If he spends the $$$ and it doesn't work out then next time he'll know better. I know I've been thru it both scenarios where I went cheap or went the opposite direction, either way I always wondered... what if I did this instead?! Just my $.02 Good luck Kyle! Hope all goes well.

just get the bumper kyle....with all the snowplowing it will have to do......it wont last long anyway/ I wouldnt even bother fixing it....just shoot it black as is. maybe plasti-dip would be better/ the first hard chunk of ice and its OVER! not like the wk bumper where you cazn take the bottom lip off.
