99% all of the kits are the same... its just certain companies make shinier labels and charge you more. Its done in ALL types of businesses

Re: Lets talk about Cheap but good HIDs

dont take me the wrong way, Im not starting an argument....just making sure the OP's thread about "CHEAP" hid's is being honestly answered

Im sure there are slight advantages to 100-200 dollar HID kits...........but for all intensive purposes.......these 40 dollar shipped kits do the job just fine!

I'm not saying all 200 kits are great, however, if either of you two actually havent USED xenondepot kits, you should atleast try and find a set to look at.

They look nothing like other kits in the market, they are BUILT with QUALITY. trust me, there is a difference between a xenondepot kit, and a $40 ebay kit.

No ifs or buts about it, argue all you want, but Xenondepot kits are built TO BE a $200 kit

Re: Lets talk about Cheap but good HIDs

can you explain further how it is that much better?

I also ask the same question to you, have u owned an HIDGATE kit?

I mean seriously, how much better could a XD kit actually be?

Are you talking about better by craftsmanship or by performance??

as far as their kit looking better....that doesnt mean much to me...its tucked away under the hood

if you mean based on longevity of the kit, Im still not convinced

even if this XD kit outlives an HIDGATE kit by a year or 2....does that still justify the $160 additional pricing?

I will buy 4 more HIDGATE kits off the XD kit savings alone and still be way ahead in the long run!

its an aftermarket hid kit....the ballast ignites a bulb and causes light........its that simple

$40>$200 all day every day

I will take my $160 savings and put it into performance parts not a light bulb IMHO

Re: Lets talk about Cheap but good HIDs

wholesalexenonhid.com ive had them for a long time. quality is stainless steel, no rust. came with two free relays, they were cheap and work great. Also backed by a lifetime warranty...

im not arguing either, just shows if you shop around and research you can find good deals and get great products..

Re: Lets talk about Cheap but good HIDs

the XD kits are not $200 for JG members...remember that. Plus you are supporting a JG vendor who really cares about JG and its members. Also a vendor who has supported the JG JOTM and so on. I have listed the differences in the kits...although not HIDGATE. I have never owned one of their kits.....so I cant comment.(I am fair that way...LOL) I can tell you the specs with the XD Xtreme kit....and its world class and in most instances better than OEM quality. matter of fact....the Xtreme bulbs use the same phillips glass as OEM lamps. The new Xtreme ballasts are smaller than a credit card and as thin as a smartphone.

PLEASE dont take my statement as saying no other kits are any good...cause thats not true. Buy what you can, what you like...either way i am happy with you. I do know this though....members here have TONS more problems with the cheaper kits....its just a fact.

Re: Lets talk about Cheap but good HIDs

I still feel like I have the need to continue to apologize......as I feel Im coming off like a snooty dickhead lol

but......I am in no way, shape or form bashing XD or the product they carry

I'm sure they are a fantastic supporting vendor that offers a great product for those who feel its "worth" it

HOWEVER

the thread specifically requested information about "CHEAP HID's"

this is like going into someones thread who wants to talk about cheap 1 piece cast rims and then people coming in saying all cast rims are crap and you should only buy $5,000 3 piece forged rims because they are better.

IMO, that's just not relevant to the topic......this thread is about whats good and cheap.....

Re: Lets talk about Cheap but good HIDs

Well if its about cheap, I apologize. I just would rather see a member support a vendor with an amazing product then a product from somewhere else that has issues.

Ive seen issues with no name kits all over this website

Im not trying to be rude, but i knew scott would back up the facts
