Re: lowered vs lifted...

I think the cars ride hight should be adjusted for what YOU the owner is going to use the car for. Some on this site will never even think about taking their cars off road so it would be a waste of money and pointless to spend money on a lift when they are not going to see the benefits of owning the lift. In fact, I make fun of people that spend tons of money on mud tires and a lift and keep their cars on the street. On the flip side, if you are going to use your car to go off road from time to time then it would be a waste of money to lower the car. It is just all about what the car is going to be used for. I didn't even lower my MKZ because I knew that I would take in through some deep snow.

Re: lowered vs lifted...

i never understood why people lowered their Jeeps... the whole Jeep tradition comes from Off Road Adventures and unbound to your roads giving the whole out doorsy feel, and i think lowering a Jeep would make the original Jeep enthusiasts roll over in their graves... HOWEVER, the SRT8 is a beautiful specimen of the finest standards and shall be the ONLY reason to ever lower a Jeep... basically if you own a Jeep it should always go up... unless its an SRT8, it should stay down like the bad girl she is... rawr

Re: lowered vs lifted...

don't get me wrong i love that the thing is lifted and it looks hot the way it is....BUT its a pain in the ass to clean the thing after i wheel it.

I've come from both worlds, having come from a 2004 Saturn Ion Redline, that was dumped on coil overs. Had i not been hit by a drunk, i'd still have the car.

I guess i'm just bored with jeep right at this point and not sure what to do next, hence the thought of making it a "clone" if thats what we want to call it.

Re: lowered vs lifted...

Cool thing about the JGC, is you can go either street or trail. Which is your preference?

Can't decide? Schitzophrenic? Can't afford a Rubicon and a SRT8?

Then get two sets of wheels and tires. Double dueces and rubber bands, and a set of 17's with proper treads. Removable roof rack. Or a WK2 with Quadra Lift.

Or all the above.

And that there, and I'm wanting to include prior generations of JGC's in there, is why the Grand is such a good option for so many of us!
