Mopar Hood Decal

I have always been the worst ever at applying any type of stickers or decals to anything, but actually pulled off a good job on this! It's actually on straight and all the bubbles are out!

Re: Mopar Hood Decal

There is a space between the outside line and the inside solid piece. Is the space between the two your white paint or is is part of the decal? I'm wondering how it will look on a Dark Cherry red. In other words would it be red or white in between the outside line and the solid center piece? I hope I explained this right...lol...Is the black, satin, flat and not shinny?

Re: Mopar Hood Decal

The only color on the actual decal is black. The white is just my paint showing thru, and that's including the Jeep letters. The black looked glossy at first, but I would say after the second day, it seems more satin. They also make this decal in silver.

Re: Mopar Hood Decal

You're welcome. Yes, I agree. Black would be better with cherry red!

Re: Mopar Hood Decal

Did some investigating and found a local shop that will do one just like the Mopar one in vinyl.. $229.00 installed... Called Quirkparts and they said the one from Mopar is very hard to take off. I'm thinking down the road I may not like it... I may have them cut out the word Hemi instead of Jeep or I may leave it blank... Thanks for your inspiration...

Hello

The decal looks great.
I didnt know about this decal until today when I was surfing for things to dress up my silver wk2 and came across a pic of the 2013 grand cherokee trailhawk's with the hood decal's.

Then I came across yours.

I usually have a lady that goes to the local body shops and installs 3M film on hoods as well as graphics do my hoods on my vehicles but I know she'll charge at least a 100.00 if not more to put that on.

How hard is it regarding lining it up properly and if it doesn't line up can you move it around alittle once you've pulled the film off the back ?
Or doesn't it even work that way ?
I just dont want to spend 150.00 for the decal and screw it up.
If I can move it around alittle once applied I'd be less worried.
I'm also worried about bubbles as I dont want to be popping them out with a pin because I screwed up

Thanks

Re: Mopar Hood Decal

For me, getting it lined up wasn't difficult and there are plenty of places on the hood that indicate that you have it right. Moving it around once you have it up there is easy enough, also. Just make sure you have it wet and soapy enough! It's quite fragile, so be extra careful getting it out of the packaging and onto the hood. There WILL be bubbles and you will be popping them, but you will never see them when it's done. There are also moments where it will seem hopeless and you want to rip the thing off and throw it away, but stay calm and patient! When you're done, you'll realize it wasn't so bad, after all.

Re: Mopar Hood Decal

One thing I wanted to add. I run this through the automatic car wash (with brushes) almost daily for months now and have had absolutely no problems with the decal. Now the plasti-dip on my chrome pieces, which was done at the same time, that's starting to show signs of wear.
