I see everyone with with Stillen covers on those ugly amber reflectors...are they a complete face lift??? Yes!! But...only if you have the cash to buy them and get them painted to match. So...here's my $2 investment and an hour of time. Let me know if you guys think its worth keeping. I dont think it looks bad at all...
Ha ha...surprisingly JAYBEE, vinyl!! They dont sell white Plastidip in my area...yellow and black. I just cut out a template from a paper plate (stong but flexible) and sat it right on some white vinyl I had purchased off eBay and cut it out with an Xacto knife! Easy mod! I have more pics...here's a couple below!
those look exactly the same as my $70 painted fiberglass ones...but in the last pic it looks like the finish is different in low light? either way, for the $ u can't beat it!
You have to forgive the pic, iPhone...good for some things, not the best for introducing something like this...the finish blends great, no different then paint-to-match looks...and without the extra bulk from the fiberglass. Now for clear bulbs instead of the amber!
They have EVERY color! On eBay his screen name is VinylMayhem1996, they have Facebook too...Vinyl Mayhem is the name. I ended up paying .81 cents per 12"x15"...good stuff, stretches great without heating and doesn't hesitate to still stick.
Lol...thanks! For a longggg time on my last car that was owners only option...the aftermarket gig hadn't had time for Pontiac yet. Vinyl was the way to get ugly amber reflectors taken care of!
It's definitely a "to each his own" type of thing...just thought it wouldn't hurt to share! Thanks for everyones feedback though...always nice to hear opinions!
just ordered my vinyl, got some extra gonna maybe try my ugly black mirrors too! thought about this a month ago and after seeing this i pulled the trigger and bought it
very nice. lovin' any time you can do a mod and save some cash. I went a little more permanent route with VHT Nightshades spray to black out my side marker/turn signal, masked out the light area then painted the rest of the amber reflector area with duplicolor and clear coated all when done.
