Need Light bulb help

Hey guys Im looking for a light bulb for the highs of my Jeep that can be a close match to my HIDs without going the HID route since I hear its bad to flash HIDs. It just looks weird having white lows and then flashing beige highs. Does anyone know of any? Specifically for bulb 9005?

Re: Need Light bulb help

You can Try HIR's they are really bright but I don't think they will match you hid's. Just making a suggestion.

Re: Need Light bulb help

Depending on the color of your HID lows I dont think they sell a halogen bulb that would match AND give you the high light output. If you do happen to find a bulb that does match in color it will most likely have a blue coating over it and will not put out high lumens. Like you I only have HID lows and stock high beams, but when i do use my highs which I just did last night in the snow storm there was no one around to even see so who cares. And your correct about flashing HID's on and off, since it takes a bit for them to heat up, so when you go to turn your highs on if you had HID's it would be dark for a few seconds. I just have LED 15 smt bulbs for my fogs since it closely matches my 6500K HID lows, but when they go on me I will be investing in HIDs. Maybe have you tried aiming your fogs up more so they act like driving lights, projecting farther out on the road but being careful they arent too high where they blind people. With the fogs being set lower you can play with them more, have them shine farther. After I lowered my car I adjusted my lows, by sitting in a buddies car facing head on about 20' away then moving the lights up until the lights were glaring then backed them down just a bit.

Re: Need Light bulb help

I actually don't use my highs for normal driving. I usually stick with the low and if anything, go with the fogs. I usually use the highs for blinking/flashing at cars to go. To be honest I never heard of HIRs, are they plus and play? What color do they give off?

Re: Need Light bulb help

I had HIR's previously before I got HID's. They were ok, somewhat brighter than stock, a little whiter in color also. I prob wouldnt get them again though for the cost of them. And just to flash the highs at slow drivers I wouldnt waste money for different bulbs.

Re: Need Light bulb help

But I wont get the same effect when I flash my highs. By the time I turn them on, they are still warming up and then I turn them off in a split second

Re: Need Light bulb help

Not true, upon start-up they give a nice flash on. But really, if your behind a slower driver and keep flashing your highs on and off if they dont get the hint they are just a moron. I see people like that daily on the highway, going 65 in the left lane with no one else in the middle or right lane, they just dont know how to drive and should have there licence revoked I say for being dumb.
