Just installed the Xtreme Digital HID kit on the fogs and the D1S bulbs for lows. Took about an hour with pulling the bumper. Decided to keep the highs halogen because of the daytime runners. Love the new look of the lights.

I mounted the ballasts on the outside of the frame (when bumper was off) below the headlights and pretty much right beside the foglight mouldings on the bumper. I'll take a picture or 2 tomorrow with the bumper off, gonna throw on a PIAA horn set that I never got around to today because I misplaced the mounting bolts I bought. The pictures will explain it better than me where I mounted them hahaha.

I just did it for the experience and to make things a bit more clean underneath, not to mention the new horns that are getting in today. I've got big mitts too so taking off the bumper to pull the headlights was easier for me. It's only 13 retainers, 4 bolts (2-7mm in the wells and 2-13mm under the front) and after those were out it just slid off. So if you have big hands, pull the bumper and save your knuckles and the headaches.

Well I've decided to switch my lights to a 5000k bulb after driving a few nights with the 8000k bulb. The 8000k bulb IMHO is NFG for any kind of nighttime driving, they're just nice for showing off but on the highway the light output is just not good enough. Will post up new pics of the 5000k bulb once I have them installed.

I think the tape will be strong enough since the ballasts are underneath the bumper cover and fairly well protected from the elements. I placed the highbeam ballasts on top of the bumper using the tape only as well. I made sure to clean the areas thoroughly with alcohol beforehand.

The bumper is extremely easy to take off, if that's what you're worried about? When I installed my highs I just popped off the upper grill/rad guard and placed the ballasts flat in each corner using the tape, but to clean up the wiring I decided to pull the bumper because it made routing the wires, hiding them and securing the with zip ties much easier (especially if you have big mitts like myself). I do recommend pulling your bumper for the experience and for a bit cleaner install regarding the wiring.

I also cleaned up the fog wiring much better when I did my highs and now the wiring is even less noticeable.

You can hit up a auto parts chain or body shop supplier for the push pin fasteners, for the plastic rivets I went to a chain store here in Canada called part source and they cost 60-70 cents a rivet. Just be careful and test them (push pin fasteners) first as I bought some that were too rigid and would shatter. I paid $12 cdn for a box of 25 at a body shop supply place and believe me it's way cheaper than the oem part and it's exactly the same.

When I get back home from work I can post a picture, brand name and part number for the push pin fasteners if you'd like? Won't be home till Friday though.

*edit* I just noticed on your profile you were in France. You can always order the parts you need online from justforjeeps.com. That is where I first bought the proper rivet gun and rivets for a rocker moulding I replaced and they might have a discount code here for jeepgarage members posted in the vendor section? Another option may be eBay for the oem rivets and push pin fasteners, you'll save money and have extra ones if you ever need them again.

Can you possibly post a picture of the light output onto the street as I am torn between 8000K (which will look cool but not as bright) and 6000K which is clearly brighter 8... thanks man

Will do once I'm back home from work. I'll do one with lows, lows & fogs and one with highs.

But after getting used to the 8000k, I retract what I said about them being NFG. The highs light up the road really well and I'm really please with all 6 lights being 8000k. Next on the list are my HID reverse lights which will be 8000k as well.
