New exhaust idea, what are your thoughts?

I've been thinking!

I would like the SRT8 rear bumper...but I need to have a class 3 hitch also. I hate the way the SRT8 hitch looks so I photoshopped this example together of what I'm thinking about.

It uses the Lexus LS 460 SS exhaust tips / bumper inserts seen below.

And here is my photoshopped idea.

So what do you guys think? Got any other ideas?

Re: New exhaust idea, what are your thoughts?

Very cool idea

But, have you actually looked at those closely? They are just a surround, the exhaust doesn't touch them at all, it just kinda "shoots" out the hole in the surround........ All of them I see always look dirty, because when you start in the morning, the black shittinmg colour condensation splits out all over the surround.
That may not worry you though, I rate the idea

Interesting I will probably have them made then since those are just a surround. Think on a lexus they would be real...

Thanks guys!

Well, if you think about it, your bumper will melt if they're actually attached to the exhaust

Re: New exhaust idea, what are your thoughts?

Yeah those are just for looks, the new mazda 6's have something like that as well. Just a thin little pipe coming up to the back of those things!

I do like the photoshop though, looks sweet!

Re: New exhaust idea, what are your thoughts?

Escape, I love the concept. Really love it. But the photoshop looks a bit awkward to me. Their placement and shape breaks a bit of the harmony of this bumper IMO.
There are no SRT-8 in my part of the world so I am not too familiar with how the design looks IRL but maybe making the part of the insert closest to the hitch straight and aligned on the end of the bumper lights would make it better. Just my 2 cents

Trust you seen this post where class 3 retained with SRT-8 bumper:

Re: New exhaust idea, what are your thoughts?

great idea......but it would be hard to carry out becasue those louvers there on the bumper are about 2-3" deep. But you may be able to paint the exposed sides black to hide them visually

Re: New exhaust idea, what are your thoughts?

And.. looks great but the hitch doesn't fit into the SRT8 exhaust gap because the gap is actually lower than where the gap for the normal bumper is. The hitch will be too high and you'll have to make bumper modifications above the gap on the new bumper, if that makes sense.
