Re: new light mod

Do you have more pictures from the build? And, did you ever get these installed?

Re: new light mod

hey may be too late about the aiming but what I am trying to say is you should try to have all 4 cut off lines at the same place. my inners are a bit higher than my outers so if i use the inners to aim i get all 4 UNDER the line. if I use the outers to aim, then my inners are TOO high. mine arent off much. maybe 2 inches at 25 feet.

Re: new light mod

JUST got the 8000k halos in yesterday

I have to paint the circuit boards black still and adhere and wire those up

I have seminars for postgrad education all this weekend, so this project will be put on hold again

I will get more pics up when I get to that step

my goal is to have these complete by spring

its too damn cold out to install right now anyways!!

Re: new light mod

cool...gotcha now!! makes sense

my retrofit guy said if that occurs, put a TINY washer/spacer in between the ones that are higher!!

and if you really want to get froggy.......sand down on the spacer ever so gently to make it slope

but he said this should be TINY

like you said.....you have about 2" off at 25 feet, which essentially is only a hair off on the projector in the bowls!!

I will begin playing with the projector aiming after I wrap up the halo wiring!!

Re: new light mod

Yea, take your time with it so it turns out perfect, no need to rush.

Question, did you get the Morimoto Mini (H1) or the (D2S)'s? How long did it take you to do the whole project so far?

Re: new light mod

minimoto H1s

all I had to do was slightly widen the hole in the high beam side to accommodate the stem of the minimoto, so not a whole lot of time YET

I still have to finish the wiring and aim the beam

that could be the tedious part I fear!

I have taken plenty of pictures of my steps so far, and once I get it done, I will post them all in the how-to section!

Re: new light mod

the minimoto's are bixenon projectors

meaning....you technically only need 1 projector per headlamp as your lo beam and high beam!

the wires are to activate the 'shutter' to come down (giving you that distinct perfect cut off line so sought after)

once its wired in, and you flip your high beam....the 'shutter' opens letting loose ALL hid light out of the projector

so, imagine FOUR projectors wide open

Re: new light mod

Oh wow, that is super sick!

I'm thinking I might do this whole build now myself.

I'm curious as to how the wiring goes, but I'll let you save that for the full write. Thanks for the info already!!
