Re: Paddle Shifter Mod

Looks like I'll be ordering a 2011 steering column tomorrow.

Anyone out there with either a 2011-12 Grand Cherokee or a new Durango care to post up a picture of their steering column like the one below of my 05 steering column?

Re: Paddle Shifter Mod

It will be completed!

I'm to far into it to turn back now, not in dollars but in effort and hours. So full steam ahead.

I will have it completed for less than the actual retail cost of the SRT steering wheel.

Re: Paddle Shifter Mod

all this is was a good read through. like you i was very eager to apply the 012 SRT wheel to the my 010. even if it meant losing a couple functions that are on either or 010&12 wheels.

lot of props for all the effort soo far, thats a lot of leg work handled.

P.s. i almost bought a 2012 SRT8 wheel on ebay several months ago but backed out- glad u got one though!!

Re: Paddle Shifter Mod

2012 Steering column arrives tomorrow. Then it's time for a retrofit into the WK1.

Re: Paddle Shifter Mod

400 wheel, 150 column, 4 for the paddle covers, 45 for damper, 4 for the 10mm airbag bolts, 2 for the steering column bolt. The airbag is gonna be the killer at around 600 new.

For just the wheel it lists for $975 new, which is insane. If I didn't find it for a killer deal I wouldn't have done it at all.

If anyone is interested I'll do a write up with pics, parts and cost for those who may want to follow my insanity.

It looks so much nicer sitting there! I'd say it's worth it if you plan on keeping your Jeep forever, modding the hell out of it and find a good deal on the parts.

Re: Paddle Shifter Mod

Is the airbag the same as the non srt wk2? If so it should be easy to find one in a junkyard for a fraction of that price
