Paintable Vinyl?

I want to paint the spokes of my JK Sahara wheels, but would like to test a couple paint colors before I commit. Is there a paintable vinyl that I could apply to the spokes on which I could spray the test paints and then remove after the test?

Re: Paintable Vinyl?

Is having someone photoshop it out of the question?

I would guess you could get some white vinyl and paint over that, if it's just to look at it on the rim, but vinyl is vinyl, it's probably going to cost the same for white as it would for colors, so you may be better off just getting different colors vinyl (colors you're interested in) and test those out. Would be less work too!

If you're thinking like 3 or 4 colors, it shouldn't cost you more than 20 bucks total to test a wheel out with each color.

Re: Paintable Vinyl?

There's a 3 dimensionality to actual painted surfaces and different lighting conditions that you can't get with photoshop.

Also, I'm trying to determine which shade of gray and metal flake content to use (if any), so I really need to apply the paint.

Guess I'll go to a hobby store and see what they have.

Oh I see. That makes sense.

Google search vinyl sign shops near you. That's what I did and they had unbeatable prices!
