I only opted to do it this way cause, 1. I couldn't get the wheels off and 2. I had to get it done that day. I rarely get time to devote to my Jeep, I usually have to grab an hour here or there, but I had the whole day yesterday, so it was all or nothing. It wasn't ideal, but I made the best of the situation.
I just followed the thread that was posted on here a while back - http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php...heels+removing
Fairly straight forward. Mask everything off including the body panels and go for it. The wheels were all stripped and sanded, then a couple of coats of primer, four coats of colour and four of clear coat. The calipers were fiddly, but it's a good enough job for now. Will be buying new lock nuts, so will get the calipers fully painted then. For now on one would never know.
This is just a temporary solution, as I'm on the hunt for a set of wheels I can have powdercoated. I use my Jeep everyday, so sending the existing wheels off to be painted just isn't an option unfortunately.
But all said and done, I'm very happy with it. Only cosy about £30 for materials and it makes a huge difference.
