Talking Painted my wheels and calipers

Well after a long time, I finally got round to painting my wheels.

Picked up some Tamiya paint that Ron (SOTI) recommended, some primer, clear coat and went to work. I used Hammerite Smooth paint for the calipers.

Unfortunately, I could only get one wheel off. My locking wheel nuts seem to be buggered. I couldn't get a proper grip on them and the wrench kept slipping off. So I had to adopt the 'paint 'em without removing 'em' method.

What a pain in the ass of a day, but....I'm very pleased how it's turned out.

Apologies for the state of my Jeep. She had a bath last week, but we all know how the roads are just now
I can highly recommend the Tamiya paint. I sprayed a few layers on my spare a few days ago and then proceeded to throw stones at it. It held up very well. No chips, even when I chucked a lump of coal at it, it was fine.

A few weeks of real driving will be a true test, but so far, I'm very impressed with it

Thanks Tilla. It was actually the pics of your comp grey rims that finally convinced me to go for grey with red calipers

X 2! You saying that you painted your wheels with them ON? Holy Sh#t.
Looking forward to hearing you describe more details, if you can...

P.S. Don't get a flat!
