Painting Calipers

So currently, my calipers look HORRIBLE! The rust and everything looks terrible. So I want to paint them, how should I go about doing so? I have a White 2005 Jeep WK. What color and paint should I go with? Any special Techniques or prep needed? Thanks!

Re: Painting Calipers

you can buy g2 paint online or go to pep boys and get duplicolor caliper paint kit. it comes with caliper cleaner and you just spray it on and use a wire brush to clean off the dirt and grease. then paint the calipers with them either on or off the rotors. i used the duplicolor paint kit and it came out amazing. they also give you a ton of paint. i was able to do my 4 rotors, my brothers 4 on his explorer and my other brothers corolla. i still have enough paint left over to do all 3 cars another 3 times. i painted mine black because i think red would have looked terrible and i didnt wanna be a brembo faker lol. black looks good and it got rid of the rusty color they were prior to painting. i am very satisfied and it was only $15 from pep boys.

Re: Painting Calipers

i haven't used it yet, but i have g2 sitting here. its more expensive than duplicolor, but from what i've heard it's worth it. i would say you can't go wrong either way because if duplicolor doesn't last as long at least you know you will have plenty left over to touch it up over and over! as far as color i would go with black.

Re: Painting Calipers

In the past i've used standard engine enamel. I removed them from the vehicle, degreased, sanded, cleaned then painted. It held up great.

Re: Painting Calipers

I am working on painting my calipers I am going to use G2 you can get it at ebay for 37.99 free shipping. The big problem I am having is What color to paint them. My jeep is dark khaki. Look at the G2 site watch the video looks pretty easy to use.
