Re: Painting head lights

as for the paint, any automotive paint will work. I have used basepaint from automotivetouchup.com and duplicolor from local auto store(autozone/autobarn).

Most important step is the prep. Once it is open, strip it with a strong degreaser, sand off all the chrome. Primer is up to you, i did 2 sets, 1 with and without the primer and still looks perfect. Clearcoat as well, i decided not to clear mine since i ran into some bad luck with it when doing some other pieces.

Give yourself a 2-3 days off just incase you run into some probs with it.

I'm aware this is an old post but I do retrofits. I could do them for you. Oven cleaner works the best to strip the chrome coating off the stock lights. I use Easy Off Heavy duty. You can watch it change color
