Lightbulb Painting Question?

On my 08 GC Laredo i have the black lips around the car. Can i get them painted by an autobody shop to match my paint color instead of buying new lips bc that could be costly and also would the paint chip since the lips are rough and not smooth?

Re: Painting Question?

yep, those can be painted. You can DIY or get a good bodyshop. Im not sure if the front airdam can be totally smooth. The limited comes with a painted front, some said it's smooth and others not. 08+ lower valance question

Re: Painting Question?

I'm actually in the process of doing this right now. I'm working on my front lip as we speak and it's getting pretty smooth but not perfect. I've been using filler primer and sandable primer to cover it. I'll do 3 coats then sand it down to smooth it out. Overall I'm pretty happy with it. I'll let ya know when I'm finished. I just started today so give me the rest of the weekend as I'm just working on it when I get time.

Re: Painting Question?

I just took a picture for ya to see what 3 coats of filler primer, sanded and then 2 more coats of filler primer as of right now. I think I'm going to sand down one more time then 3 more coats of filler primer.

Re: Painting Question?

the mopar kit is for the 05-07 for the front, but the sides would make your jeep look lower. do a search of the site. you can just paint your front lip

Re: Painting Question?

Here's the finished product for ya if it will help at all.

I ended up not bothering trying to sand it down and fill it in more. I just went with it and am happy with it. You can kinda see the orange peel look a little but it's on the bottom so it won't be that noticeable. Hope this helps you out!
