Long time due, I know.
Well today is raining and decided to get the WJ in the garage and finish up my V-LEDS interior set up.
I had it all pretty much complete except the door lights. To change the door lights to V-LEDS wasn't so simple as some mondification needed to be donein order to get the base of the LED into the socket and I also had to modify the base also so it can make contact with the terminals in the little blue socket.

I didn't have my regular camera with me so I had to take pics with my cell, I hope they came out good, but you'll get the idea.

Has anyone else here have put the V-LEDS on the WJs doors?

Here are the pics...
Ohh yeah, the jeep is dirty and is raining, I'll take more pics when the jeep is clean and with my regular camera.

I agree Nate, I think they look great too, the pics don't do its justice, they look much better in person. Definitely worth the $$$.

Here are some more pics showing how I modified the bulb base and socket for it to fit.

First I opened up two small holes at the base of the bulb.

Then I took two pieces of wire to tie into the two holes I opened up.
You can see I took the two pieces of wire strand and twisted them together.

Here they are tie into the base...

Next I had to open up the thin slot on the socket for the thicker base from the V-LED bulb to go in. I used a small drill to take some plastic out from the sides.

Here's the bulb and socket together and with the wires tied on the socket side terminals finally making contact.

Here is into the housing.

This is were I got the wire strands from.

There might be a simpler way to do it, but I had the above wire and tools handy and did it like that.
It might help someone else doing this mod, especially on the doors.

BTW, no need to take out the bulb housing from the door, I did for the picture only. Just get the socket out.

Is that chart for a WJ? I know there was a WK chart like that floating around or do they take the same bulbs?

The chart Mario posted is what he needed for the WJ interior LED conversion. Paul aka YoungMedic made one for WK's specifically SRTs. I saw it recently too, I know its on the red site but I forgot what he posted it under.

Here Nate Found it (From YoungMedic23):

"1st lights are 2 bulbs per 1 in quantity....those are for the rear map lights and the license plate bulbs (4 total bulbs)...update to HIGH POWER 2Watt!...updated 10/7/09

2nd lights are for front map lights (2 total bulbs)...update to 36 LED's!...updated 10/7/09

3rd lights are for sunvisor lights (2 total bulbs)...same light from previous...updated 10/7/09

4th lights are also 2 bulbs for 1 in quantity which are for front lower dash lights, glove box light, and liftgate. (4 total bulbs)...HIGH POWER...updated 10/7/09"
