I am looking to Plasti Dip the chrome side molding on my WK2. I would like to dip the whole thing black, and then do the lettering a separate color. Can anyone tell me if that is doable and the best way to approach it?

Here's an example if the side moldings I have:

i've plasti-dipped my moldings on my wk but i never tried to paint the lettering a different color. It might work out for you if you use a permanent marker like a sharpie or something like that over the plastidip but that all depends on the color your looking to paint the letters. it would have to be something like a white or a silver or even a gold that might stand out over the plasti dip, something bright. I would try to plastidip something first and then paint over it with the marker just to see if the color bleeds through before you try it on the moldings. Good luck

i believe you can do it with a paint pen/brush. Scott paint and performance..one of our vendors provide this service and does an excellent job.

He did mine..

that will look awesome! havent seen that combo yet.
I believe on the wk, there are 2 types of moldings...the chrome moldings have the recessed letters while the black have the raised letters.

I think it may be easier if you are doing it yourself with a touchup paint w/ brush to do it with the recessed letters. Mine are raised and it may be touch to prevent dripping. just a thought.
