Plastidipped bezels

So I plastidipped the chrome bezels around the windows on my 14 GC altitude...looks awesome...next are the calipers and then I'm done visually...then sound is the priority

Re: Plastidipped bezels

Looks sweet! I've been considering doing the same on my black 14' altitude. The chrome is driving me crazy. Is their a particular brand of dip you would recommend? How many cans\coats did it take for coverage. I also noticed you used about a 1/2 gap around the top/bottom paint as I've seen done in youtube vidoes. Any issues getting a clean line during removal?

Re: Plastidipped bezels

So we used traditional plastidip which can be found in any Home Depot...about 5 coats, and let it dry for about 20-30minutes...found that it's easier to peel off taped areas the heavier the coats...unfortunatly it was a little windy so we did get some overspray which u just wipe off with some quick detail afterwards

Re: Plastidipped bezels

Also...figure 1can per side...and @$6.00 per can who cares...we leave about a 1/2 inch around bezel and depending on weather(if ur outside) try to tape pretty tight to avoid any overspray...when peeling off tape, little tricky in the corners which we recommend just cutting with a razor...other than that...plastidip does the job

Re: Plastidipped bezels

I couldn't get the corner by the mirrors to come off clean on both sides. Still look better than the chrome trimming.

Looks great, did my Laredo a couple years back and it's a bit time consuming but looks great. Now I've been dragging my feet on the SRT mainly because of how long it takes.
