Re: POLL: Choose My Rim 22" Wheels

im not sure if they would fit without rubbing issues. I know when I had them done I was told I would run into problems with that bolt inside the wheel well. I live in Colorado and have tons of potholes out here. I avoid most of them as much as I can but the ones I cant, the tires have had no problems with. And the ride quality, to me, is better than the stock wheels and tires.

here are a couple of pics showing the gap with a 265/40 and then the width of it from the back.

from a very long time ago when I first got the wheels and before debadging... maybe you can see the width of them

Re: POLL: Choose My Rim 22" Wheels

Ok so if I wanted to increase the thickness......have a thicker tire (height wise)....would i change to 45? or 275??

265/40/22 to 275/40/22
265/40/22 to 265/45/22

Re: POLL: Choose My Rim 22" Wheels

if you wanted a thicker sidewall, you would go with a 265/45 if you wanted a wider tire (more rubber on the ground) you would go with a 275/40

Re: POLL: Choose My Rim 22" Wheels

Im wanting a thicker sidewall I think, enough to fill up a little more gap....so my tire is thicker from the rim to the tire

Re: POLL: Choose My Rim 22" Wheels

then go with a 265/45. that will give you a thicker sidewall and more rim protection from potholes. I just dont think youre going to fill the wheel well completely without a drop. Im not sure if a 265/45 will fit without rubbing though. But im not sure.

Re: POLL: Choose My Rim 22" Wheels

I chose the chrome with black accents...I think the black rims would look great if you want to be total stealth...BUT IMHO since the ride is black, chrome will give you a little contrast and the black accents will tie it all together.

As you know these are the wheels I am prolly going to get...and with my White Jeep I will get the black with chrome accents for the "contrast".

Which way are you leaning Kyle?

Edit - Nice choice with the chrome...you will be happy with the "contrast"

Hey bro, seeing the black rim with chrome on that black envoy made me switch over, I'm going to go with the chrome with black accents, I've always wanted a big chrome wheel, so ill be ordering them when I get my income tax back. I think the black wheel would look sick on your jeep just because its a white jeep. I'm probably gunna go with a 265/40/22 tire since you guys haven't had any problems with it.
