Re: Remove and replace chrome bezel rear taillights

I haven't done it yet, but I bought a set of gloss black rear lamp bezels from allmoparparts.com haven't found the instructions on how to remove, but I'm sure once I have the new ones, I'll figure it out. I'll post pics when done.

Re: Remove and replace chrome bezel rear taillights

You'll need to remove all tail lights. (4 in total)
For the ones in the liftgate you'll need to remove the interior panel.
No special tool needed for the panel ...just pull. Once you remove panel you'll see several black nuts holding the lights on. These all need to be remove. I believe they are 10mm.

The side pieces have two nuts and then it's a matter of pulling. They snap in and out of place so a little force is needed.

After the lights are off there will be a small torx screw on each piece to remove.
When that's removed slowly start prying the existing bezel away from the light. It's held on by double-sided tape so you'll need to use a razor-blade to start cutting the tape while you pull.

Clean off the light with Goo Gone after removing the bezels and then install the new bezels. Don't forget to put the torx screw back.

Take your time and it'll go smoothly.

Both look awesome, I'm doing my bezels probably very soon, I just recently got all black emblems put on, this week doing a muffler delete. Step by step I'll get her where I want her to be. What's the yellow car next to it

Thanks, it's fun to get the jeep just like you want it, isn't it.....

The yellow car is a Maserati Gran Turismo, my other toy, although I have to admit that since getting the 2015 overland two weeks ago, I didn't drive the GT once.
