Re: Should I drill vent holes in my tinted tails?

Do not drill holes in the housing IMHO...and ONLY do the LED tails if you know they will work

Re: Should I drill vent holes in my tinted tails?

If you have the 08 or 09 single bulb tails you're ok. I have them dark on an 09 and they don't get hot at all. If anything get the led bulbs but I wouldn't drill any holes. There is a gasket on the bulb for a reason. IMO

Re: Should I drill vent holes in my tinted tails?

I think only 1 or 2 08/09 sets warped. But no real conclusive evidence has been brought to the table yet. There are dark sets out there for about a year now (daily driven) that haven't warped.

But there are some daily driven which have. I'd just like to protect my investment so I don't end up

Re: Should I drill vent holes in my tinted tails?

Just practice common sense when cleaning them, and you should be fine. The 1 08/09 set that I know of admitted that he used cold water on a hot tails. Do the math. Or the science and you'll see what happens.

Re: Should I drill vent holes in my tinted tails?

I can do that, what worries me is the hotness from night driving or driving in traffic when I'm on the brakes all the time.

I'm not running LEDs or drilled. I'm confident they won't warp. What can I tell ya?

With my luck, you'd fall into the one percentile.

I work 9-5pm and I have to drive 4 exits on the Long Island Expressway for my commute. What takes me 10 min w/o traffic and 30-40min during rush hour. If it's raining out it's worse. Mine don't get hot at all day or night driving.
