Skinny door trim

I have a limited with the skinny chrome door trim and i want to paint it.Ive seen posts that have said there are clips holding them on (& tape @ the ends)
Are these clips reusable? how should i remove them without breaking them. all ive found was about laredo trim saying rip it off.
any help would be great

Re: Skinny door trim

I use a panel puller set that my body shop has. They are made by Mac tools...but other makers have them too. They wont mar the paint and slip behind the moldings enough for me to slide a flat tool behind the molding to disengage the clips. The clips are reusable.

Re: Skinny door trim

just take off the interior door panels, you can easily pop them out from back there if you are worried about the clips
