Cool Snakeskin green calipers

OK guys n gals, I've been toiling with this idea for some time now. Thinking of doing my calipers Snakeskin Green. My Jeep is black with graphite grey wheels. I've got the colour on my Jeep, in the engine bay and the boot strutts.

I want a colour that is different to the norm, so I'm putting it to the vote. I'm pretty sure I will go with this, but I will have to have the paint specially made, so I want to be 100% sure.

I painted a spare caliper with some of the paint I already have;

Re: Snakeskin green calipers

You know me! Just about anything that goes against the norm gets my vote. Now that you have some more professional spray guns, will you be going with true auto paint or Tamiya rattle can?

Re: Snakeskin green calipers

Also, the paint looks rather transparent, and might not reflect the true brilliance shot directly over a semi-clean caliper. You might want a base of white down first. Then that green would pop!

Re: Snakeskin green calipers

The stuff I have used in the picture was just some chip repair paint. I'll have to get the paint specially made and in a high temp format too, so it will be much more glossy than what you see there. That is indeed a VERY thin coat.

I'll be using all my new tools to spray them

Good point on the white base though.

Sweet!!!!! That's awesome dude!

That's kinda what I'm going for! I've done a few accents in the engine bay and the strutted. I'm airbrushing my intake and some other parts, with skulls, but I'm debating wether to go with green skulls/flames or keep em white!
