Srt8 Roof Rail help

I just put my new srt8 roof rails on, and theres seems to be a minor problem. When i tightened the bolts and looked at it, the middle of the rail was bent. It looked a little like the letter U, but upside-down. I loosened the blots and the curve went down just a little. And ideas why this is happening to me?? Or am i missing a piece or two?

Re: Srt8 Roof Rail help

I had the same problem as I installed 2nd hand SRT rails, The 3m tape had lost some of its adhesive.
The rail curved up from the roof due to the heat during the day,I loosened the 3 rear most screws and used a flat screwdriver to lever the rail backwards and tightened the rails down.
They have been OK since, I didnt want to stick the rails as they are a summer only accessory re installing roof rails in winter for the snowboard roof box.

Re: Srt8 Roof Rail help

would you suggest using 3m tape? and what do you mean you levered the rail backwards?

Re: Srt8 Roof Rail help

to help bond 3M so it doesnt come out use cement paste/glue...it comes in a little black bottle and has a brush applicator in it...apply it evenly to the 3M sticky side and/or the area you are placing it in...press down and walla it aint coming out...

This was used to put on my CF rear step/CF Mirror Covers/ Emblems/CF Front lip strip and they are snug tight.
