stillen problem, what to do?? HELP!

Ok, attached you will find a photo of the side marker cut out on my stillens.
I need advise, I had my stillens installed by a friends (not close) body shop. When I dropped them off I told him about the small side marker cut out. I also said that I was more than willing to cut them out myself so that if there was any problem it would be my fault.
So when I picked them up he told me that the guy that did them did npot notice the small cut out but a larger one. They looked a little uneven but were talking millimeteres and I told him that it looked ok.
Well now that I have them installed I am not happy, they do not look ok.
I beleive I have 2 options
1. call him and ask him to redo the work on his dime
2. have the side markers tinted so that you don't notice them being cut wrong, I guess the tint won't help at night when the lights are on.

Look:

EEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWW!

Where did you go to get this done? I done think you can redo it. Why did you even leave the shop?

I would tell him to purchase new ones and you will finish it off by yourself.

Re: stillen problem, what to do?? HELP!

this will be fun, the shop is hurting, the owners daughter is in the hospital. I thought i would throw the business their way because its cold out and have no where to paint. this is why i hate not doing things myself!

Nick, this is why I asked about the tint!

Sh!tty body shop! Good god!

Sorry that happened man :/ I'd say make them buy another set in addition to a full refund for sure. You shouldn't have to fix what they messed up!

Let me know if you have any more questions.

One other idea would be to just cut off the remaining side marker covers and do the tint over them instead. Don't know if that's what you meant in the initial post but I'd imagine it would work if you can find a clean way to cut the covers and not compromise their ability to mount sturdily.

Re: stillen problem, what to do?? HELP!

Well, talked with body shop they said they would glady paint replacements for free. BUT.... they are not willing to replace the stillen's. The point they used is they still had the cut out and showed me the line the employee followed.

Thankfully Stillen has excellent customer service, I spoke with Margret there and she asked me to forward the pic and she is going to see what she can do for me.

Take this as another lesson learned, being the nice guy and trying to send an aquaintance business can really bite you in the A$$.
